On December 1, 2020, Inversiones Regal was accused of improperly disposing of at least 30 bags of fishscale and bones in the Villa María wetlands, a protected area. Representatives from the Environmental Inspection and Public Health Departments of the Provincial Municipality of Santa, and the Ecological Police reported that hydrobiological waste was found in the wetlands near Inversiones Regal’s plant, and that the area was used for washing dump trucks, which contaminated the environment and the wetlands. The report was sent to the Special Prosecutor's Office for Environmental Matters for an investigation.

On September 27, 2023, the Ministry of Production sanctioned Inversiones Regal for exceeding the amount of juvenile anchovies allowed in a single catch on April 4, 2021.
On October 4, 2023, the Ministry of Production again sanctioned Inversiones Regal S.A. for exceeding the amount of juvenile anchovies allowed in a single catch on May 9, 2020.
