- Civil Unrest
- On November 18, 2024 fishers again protested against these reductions within 1 kilometer of Tasa’s fishmeal plant by setting tires on fire, blocking access to the port, and announcing an indefinite strike.
- In 2019, for example, hundreds of fishers held a protest demanding that the fishing companies Exalmar, Hayduk, Copeinca, Austral, Centinela, and Tasa, among others, pay a fair price for the anchovy they were buying.
- Miscellaneous
- In March 2020, Peru’s anti-corruption prosecutor's office filed a complaint against four officials from the country's Maritime Institute (Imarpe) and four fishing companies, including Tasa. The complaint accused the officials and companies of committing fraud by having “manipulated data to "inflate" the size of the anchovy biomass evaluation and of filtering scientific information.”.
- Fishing
- On March 3, 2020, the vessel the Don Tomas was sanctioned by the Ministry of Produce for unloading more anchovies than the discharge limit allows on June 5, 2017, which was then delivered to a Tecnologica De Alimentos processing plant.
- In August 2024, Peru’s Ministry of Production dismissed administrative processes related to false reporting of juvenile anchovy captures against eight companies. One of the companies was TASA. The other seven companies were Inversiones Pesqueras Liguria, CFG, Pesquera Hayduk, Pesquera Diamante, Pesquera Saby, Pesquera Luciana, and Inversiones Moreda. These companies were accused of underreporting their catches of juvenile fish, which was a serious violation under Peru's General Fisheries Law. The Ministry of Production explained that it dismissed the processes because “the information provided by the vessel owner” in the electronic logbook, which was used as a key piece of evidence in the case, “was neither timely nor reliable.”.
