- In April 2025, the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Ghana withdrew the fishing license of the Long Xiang 608, which had been operating under its flag despite beneficial ownership belonging to a Chinese company. Ghanaian authorities cited illegal fishing practices including unauthorized at-sea transshipments, harvesting juvenile fish, dumping of catch, and fishing in restricted areas as the reasons behind the revocation of the Long Xiang 608's license. Ghana's Fisheries Law 625 mandates that the Long Xiang 608 will not recover its fishing license until April 1, 2026. However, the vessel was still authorized to sell its catch in the European Union as of February 2026, according to media outlet Faro de Vigo.
