- On December 1, 2021, inspection at Pesquera Centinela’s fishmeal and oil plant revealed that the Mi Melchorita, owned by Percy Antonio Sotero Chang and Ruth Evelyn Campos Neyra, had unloaded 38.095 tons of anchovy, exceeding the authorized storage capacity by 0.08 percent, about 60 pounds.
- On May 30, 2022, a routine inspection revealed that the Mi Melchorita had unloaded 38.560 tons of anchovy, exceeding the authorized storage capacity by 1.37 percent, about 0.528 tons. As a result, 0.528 tons of anchovy were confiscated, and the company, Corporación Pesquera Inca, was required to pay the commercial value of the seized fish. At the time of the infraction, the vessel had been leased to Comercializadora Janeth & Pili, which was responsible for the violation. The original vessel owners, Juan Joselito Campos and Percy Antonio Sotero, acknowledged their responsibility and sought a reduction in fines.
